Roof leak triage from inside

Steps

1. Put a bucket under the drip and move anything valuable clear.
2. If the ceiling is bulging, pierce the lowest point with a small hole to let it drain in a controlled way.
3. Go into the attic with a flashlight and trace the wet path back uphill; photograph what you find.
4. Note the date, the weather, and the location for the insurance claim.
5. Schedule a licensed roofer. Do not climb onto a wet or steep roof.
