Clear a slow drain without chemicals

Steps

1. Remove the pop-up stopper or strainer and clean everything off it.
2. Feed a plastic hair tool or a small hand auger a few feet into the drain and pull the debris out.
3. If that fails, put a bucket under the trap, unscrew the slip nuts, and clean the trap directly.
4. Reassemble hand tight plus a quarter turn, then run water and check for drips.
5. Backups in more than one fixture point to the main line — that is a professional clearing.
